For this hike, you have to cross Golden Gate Bridge and exit at Alexander Ave, to drive to Rodeo Beach through the tunnel. At the beach, proceed all the way west until the end of the lagoon, then follow the stairs/footpath uphill.
If you go straight west, you'll end up at a dead end, but it offers nice views of the rocky coastline, all the way to Point Reyes on a clear day. For the loop trail, backtrack to the trail that leads up to the giant WWII bunker and get back onto the paved fire road. Proceed upwards the stairs toward the summit, where the trail meets the Coastal Trail, which you follow eastwards.
Follow the Coastal Trail until it hits Miwok Trail, then make a right, downwards, and follow Miwok Trail which winds back down all the way to the lagoon at Rodeo Beach. Follow the secluded footpath on the side of the road to get back to the starting point.
