San Francisco's Sutro Tower is prominently visible even from a great distance, all the way from San Bruno Mountain to the South, and Point Reyes to the North. This city hike approaches it as far as legally possible, using some lesser known paths in its vicinity.

Park on Panorama Dr, make a right at Cityview Way, left at Knollview Way, and keep right when the street merges back onto Panorama Dr. Turn right on Marview Way, and take the stairs to the left after 400ft, labeled Fredela Ln. At the top of the first flight of stairs, cross the street and look for a second set, slightly to the left, go up.

On Farview Ct, turn right, then left on Marview and look for a dirt path entrance into the park to the left. Stay close to the tower, and at the dead end, search for another dirt path on the left that leads into the woods. It's winding downwards between the trees, and ends on La Avanzada St. Make a left and another left shortly after onto Dellbrook Ave, continue to Olympia, to turn right on Panorama Dr.
