Driving from the airport towards San Francisco on freeway 101, have you ever noticed the big letters on left hand hill side near San Bruno that spell out 'South San Francisco The Industrial City'?

Well, these giant letters are located at Hill Side Park, accessible by foot from Diamond Ave in San Bruno. Park at the gate and proceed on foot through the gate and up the steep, paved road.

When the path forks near a big water tank, the dirt path to the right leads upwards on a reasonably sloped trail. After it levels out at the top, find a small path through the grass on the left, to peek at the giant white letters painted onto concrete. Then proceed on the main path to the weather station and find very steep steps leading down to the lower level and a leveled path leading back to the entrance gate, with more views of the big letters.
