Driving south on Hwy 1 after Pacifica, passing by Devil's Slide, right before reaching Montara, there's a parking lot to your left named 'Gray Whale Cove' with access to the beach down below.

The trail starts at the south end of the parking lot, leading upwards and parallel to Highway 1. After a turn and few hundred feet, take the small steep path upwards to your left.

After reaching the top, continue straight and reach a fire road after half a mile, turn right and follow the road downhill. Another half mile and there's a fork in the road, stay on the right and continue downwards. The road keeps winding down the hill, shortly before reaching the bottom make a right at the path labeled 'Gray Whale Cove'. Follow the path above Highway 1 and enjoy fantastic views.
